I walked to the shops with Ziggy yesterday and we I walked to the shops with Ziggy yesterday and we must have been stopped every couple of steps by someone wanting to fuss him in his #StarDogDesigns fleece. He LOVED the fuss but a bit weird for me who'd been sick again and just wanted to get back to my bed. I'd only left the house to top the electricity meter up! That brings me onto my #wonderfulwednesday list of my five thinhs that have made me happy this week- 🌻 People! Here's to people. We're all trying to get through the day and I'm very grateful to have you lovely lot who follow along with #emilyandthewhippet! Particularly to @racheljbolt for being you 💕 🌻 Ziggy's ears! Just. Look at. Them. I don't post photos of his ear malfunctions enough, I know you all love them. There's not a way they can't go! 😂 🌻The Loving Kindness ecourse run by @nourishingsoulfully last week. What a fantastic course and wonderful group of women. It was a pleasure 💕 I hope it's a community around for a long time to come. 🌻 Getting to see the red pandas at the zoo. I love red pandas and one of our Christmas presents was to go and meet some later this year. I've seen them in person so rarely that getting to watch them explore and climb (with a little sneeze!) was magical. 🌻 The opportunity I have to work around my health and do the illustration I love. Dog parenthood is still parenthood right? 😂🐕 Dog parenthood is still parenthood right? 😂🐕 When I finished this card, it made me smile so much and really, what more do you want in a Mother's Day card? 😂 Ziggy is definitely spoilt to the high heavens, he's got more toys than I have commom sense and the biggest collection of #StarDogDesigns bandanas you'll ever see! 😂 But most of all we love him to bits. He's a member of our family and we treat him as such, he's loved more than anything. His cuddle quota is kept topped up constantly (he's leaning on my legs as I write) and we take him on so many adventures. He shivers in the cold so wears jumpers and has a bed in every room in the house (a whippet sit on the bare floor!? You must be mad!) After a busy week of drawing and far too many odd jobs, we're ready for a quiet weekend curled up in front of the telly watching Studio Ghibli films. I've been so filled with anxiety the last two days and I can't work out why and as much as I want to keep drawing and drawing, sometimes you need to turn off a little to feel better about the world. I would have loved to have a German Shepard growin I would have loved to have a German Shepard growing up, all that fluff and those ears that just can't quite stand up straight! This card is now up on the EmilyandtheWhippet Etsy shop (link in bio). I drew it last week and couldn't help thinking it'd make a perfect Mother's Day or new baby/puppy card! I have a tendancy to say that I'd like every dog breed I see though! 😂 Other favourites include Irish Wolfhounds, Borzois, Dachshunds, Border Collies, Leonburgers and even Dalmatians! (We didn't really do Disney growing up). Whippets will always be a firm favourite though, they're the perfect dogs for us and Ziggy's better than we ever could have wished for ❤️ What's the dog breed you'd love to have if nothing was a problem? It'd probably be an Irish Wolfhound for me but I can barely fit in the bed with just the whippet 😂 My favourite will probably change next time I'm asked but what's yours? With all the snowstorms, snoot cuddles and random With all the snowstorms, snoot cuddles and random sleeping, the last week has been quite the venture. But what's made you happy this week? Here's my five things for #wonderfulwednesday; 🌸 Getting to sit down and draw surrounded by my plants with my Ziggy on my knee. I'm so so grateful that I'm able to do this, even if a certain someone likes to steal my (read, his! 😂) seat everytime I get up! 🌸 My fabulous customers. After having some issues receiving messages on the #StarDogDesigns facebook page, I managed to access all the lovely comments people have left me about their orders. It makes me so happy to hear from you all! 🌸 Spending time with the lovely @laikarocketdog and her human and them taking us in for an extra night when a snowstorm stopped us driving back home through the Peaks. 🌸 Getting to see @daisy_goldie_girl and her humans and them getting us slices of delicious @bakedsheffield from @birdhouseteacompany to go with a delicious lunch. It makes me smile everytime I find some of Daisy's fur on my jumper! 😂 🌸 Looking through old photos and being reminded of wonderful days such as this one with @tale.of.two.rommies. It weird to this it was so long ago! I think you'd only just started fostering George back then. - I really struggled to keep the list to five things today. For such a tough week, there's been so many happy moments which is what this is all about 💕 Let me know what you think of the photo too, I love the colour but wasn't sure if my little grey whip got a bit lost in it all. There's no use letting life pass you by if you're ever so slightly missing the mark of where you want to be. I've been sketching a lot this week and some of the drawings I love so much I'm going to put them up on the shop. This one is of Maya, @miss.salt.bae's gorgeous Bedlington Whippet. Maya's absolutely beautiful and it's been lovely having the pleasure of getting to know better her human Jess over the last week.
